There once was a pretty princess who decided to go to the village to buy a gift for her friend's birthday.

On her way back home to the castle, she decided to take a short cut through Mushroom Forest.

As she continued walking, she noticed someone following her. It was a forest elf.

"woof"
The little forest elf noticed that the princess had a furry companion by her side and he wanted to pet him.

He's so fluffy! I want to pet him.

What are you doing? You're petting my dog without asking me. He could have bit you!
...but he looked friendly.

Even though he looks friendly, you could have petted him in a way he doesn't like.

The forest elf ignored the princess. Something else caught his eyes. It was the gift the princess bought for her friend.
Ooo, what a pretty present.

Without any thought, the forest elf stole the princess' gift in a blink of an eye.
Oh no! He stole my gift for my friend.
Hehehe, I got it! I got it! I really got it!
The forest elf was about to run away, but he saw the princess crying a puddle.

Hey, what's wrong? Are you crying because I took your present? I just wanted to have a look inside.

Yes, it wasn't yours to take! That present belongs to me. I bought that gift to give to my dear friend. Give it back right now!
The princess was very confused and angry. She thought, "How could someone just take something that doesn't belong to them, like it's not a big deal?"

While the Forest Elf was confused as well. He wondered what was the big deal?

Whats the big deal?

The big deal is that you need to ask for permission.

Permission? What is Permission?

Permission means an agreement with each other, a person or elf giving another authority to do something.

Authority?

Authority means the power to make your own decisions. You have the power to say NO, if something feels wrong or uncomfortable.

I think I understand now. I'm sorry for taking your gift without your permission. Here you go!
Thank you for giving back my gift for my friend.

Now that I know what permission is, do you think I can pet your dog?
Since you asked nicely, of course you can! He loves being scratched behind his ears. Go right ahead.
