It was just a regular wensday morning, Naval officer William Halsey and his best friend were just walking around the outside when six aircrafts appear in the sky. Japanese symbols on the side no one expected any attacks, but thats exactly what happended. 7:55 am six Japanese air crafts flew over Ohau Island in Hawaii, where the U.S naval base was. and bombed 

The soldiers were unprepared the war went on for 11 minutes a second wave struck at  8:50 and ended at 9:00. 2,341 soldiers died and 1,000 people were wounded. 18 ships were destroyed or sunk and put the us Army with barley any ships

The attack shocked the Nation and sent shockwaves of fear and anger into the west and east coast. The day after president roosevelt responded to the attack ans sent a world wide message that the U.S was entering WW2
