Once upon a time, there lived a red seahorse, 

named Edward. Edward lived at the bottom of 

the ocean with his fish friends, Evan and Elaine.

Life at the bottom of the ocean was simple. They 

woke up in the morning, ate their breakfast, 

brushed their teeth, and went to school. The fish 

friends loved school.

One day Edward said to Evan and Elaine, "I'm 

bored. Aren't you guys bored? Maybe we should 

try to play with the other fish."

Evan and Elaine looked at each other. "Yes," they 

said, "We are kind of bored, too."

"We need to have an adventure," said Edward. 

"What should we do?" asked Evan and Elaine.

"I'm glad you asked," said Edward, "because I've 

been thinking we should play tag with the other 

fish."

Edward, Evan, and Elaine all swam over to the 

seaweed to see what the other fish were 

doing. Edward, Evan, and Elaine wanted to 

play tag with all of the other fish friends.

"Hey," said Edward, "Can we join you in a 

game of tag?" 

"No way," said Philip, the blue seahorse, "We 

don't want to play with you slow swimmers. 

Edward, Evan, and Elaine were all sad. Philip 

had hurt their feelings by calling them slow 

swimmers and not letting them play tag with 

the other fish friends. 

"What are we going to do now?" asked Evan 

and Elaine. 

"Well," began Edward, "Philip's name calling 

makes me really mad! That is so mean!"
