Luke 6:31- Do to others as you would have them do to you.
Published in April 2022 by Gracie Ella

This is the story of a wolf who earned a friendship. There once lived a very kind wolf. He longed for a friend but was very shy, and no other wolves had an interest in him. But the wolf was wise, for he knew how to get others to be kind to him: Be kind to others. Unfortunately, he could not think of a way to be kind to others. It seemed there was no chance. One day, though, the wolf (named Winston) encountered a young girl laying on the side of the road, unmoving. He nudged her, but she didn't move. Winston knew that if he left her there, the other wolves would notice her and eat her. So, Winston moved the girl to his home, a small hollow in the wolf kingdom.
Later, the beautiful girl woke up. "Where am I? Oh… water! Please." she said. Winston gently nudged the girl in a sitting position.
"Here. Have this. What is your name?"
"Sun Lilly... thank you so much, friend." Winston was joyful. Friend? Friend! I have a friend! He thought.
A year later, trouble was stirring. A war between the wolves and dragons had broken out, and many wolves had perished.
Winston was upset. Sun Lilly was worried about her friend.
"Please, Winston. I know how to help us. Let me lead you to The Oak Queen. She knows what to do."
So the duo began their long and tiresome journey. They trudged through slush. Dug through the dirt. And pressed through winds. Finally, they arrived at a small forest. Oak trees covered and spread across the forest. "Queen Oakley? "It's me, Sun Lilly. Please! My friend needs help." Out of the ground a root spread onto the forest floor. Eyes appeared. So did a mouth.
"Sun Lilly! My beautiful girl."
Sun Lilly curtsied, "Your Rootness. Looking vinier than usual!" To Winston, she hissed, "Flatter her with compliments about roots and tree stumps."
Winston bowed, "Yes, my pleasure to meet such a branchy tree stum-Mmf!" Sun Lilly slapped a hand over his snout. "I mean... it's my pleasure."
Queen Oakley nodded. Winston briefly explained.
" You need my help, eh? I'm sorry, but my magic does not let me use it against others. I can't help someone win a war."
Winston felt dizzy.
"But, I have a friend who can help you. Queen Ivy, the Queen of Vine Trees."
Once again, Winston and Sun Lilly trudged through slush. Dug through the dirt. And pressed through winds. Finally, they arrived at the palace. The doors opened.
"Hello," spoke a vibrating voice, "Who are you?" Winston introduced himself."Tell me you can help us," begged Winston.
"I can," said Queen Ivy. The others cheered. "But what if I don't want to? I know who sent you. I'm Oakley's... acquaintance, but I don't trust you two."
