For my mom for liking this book. 

My story begins on a small island. There, I live with my owner Emmy. She has cared for me all my life. I really like her, but most of all, I like my home.

I was a rescue dog. I was a month old when Emmy first adopted me. When I first saw her, I thought she wasn't gonna get me. But when she first saw me, she smiled.

Emmy and I spend hours playing. Sometimes, she takes me to the dog park. I like playing with other dogs there. They all seem friendly. 

I'm also a very curious dog. Sometimes I go around the house sniffing everything. And the best part is that Emmy doesn't get mad. She just laghus.

One day, Emmy was taking me out for a walk.  Then, she started to talk to a woman. "Hi!" She said to me. I let her pet me. She looked nice like Emmy. 

Emmy kept talking to that woman. Did she not like me anymore? She never mentioned anything about me. I got so mad I barked. "Quiet Stanley!" She said to me.  

Emmy never talked to me like that before. Maybe she didn't like me anymore. She may replace me with another dog.

Dose she not like me?

When I got home, Emmy talked to me about how to be nice to people. But it isn't my fault. That woman just wanted to take me away from Emmy. 

At night, I was in my warm cozy bed. But the negative feeling of that woman kept me up all night. I even had a nightmare of her taking Emmy away from me.

The next morning, I woke up in a panic. I ran to Emmy's room and started to bark. "Stanley! Quiet down!" I stopped barking. "Don't do that again!" Said Emmy. She sounded mad.

After breakfast, Emmy took me to the dog park. She wasn't mad at me anymore. I talked to the other dogs about the woman Emmy was hanging out with. I actually barked to talk to them. They can understand me like I can understand them.
