Parker the Polar bear was on a stroll through his beautiful arctic neighborhood when he saw the sleazy Frankie the arctic Fox.
Man this place sucks. It’s all ice for ages and ages. I wish I could melt it all away with my spells.

Parker loved his ecosystem, and he tried to ignore the rude comment, but he just couldn’t let Frankie get away with it.
What do you mean this place sucks?! Look around. There’s beautiful ice as far as the eye can see. I play in it all the time! The air is always crisp and cool and there aren’t any hot temperatures to be found!

Seriously! This place sucks and so do you! I hate all the snow and ice. It SUCKS! Stop acting like it’s good. I’m putting you to sleep forever so I don’t have to see your face ever again.

AHAHHHH ZZzzzzzzzzz

After Parker fell asleep, years passed, and slowly but surely, his former home was destroyed.
10,000 Years Later
There’s gotta be something in here. There’s almost no food left. All the other polar bears have died. What’s this? A SLEEPING POLAR BEAR.

During all that time, Parker was sleeping until a fellow polar bear happened to find him ...
I’m going to wake him up.

After the polar bear woke Parker up, he told Parker about what had happened while he was asleep. They walked around and started catching up, Parker’s face started getting sadder and sadder. His beautiful home had been destroyed. Pieces of ice had melted off, and it was smelting hot.
However, Parker’s sad face didn’t stay like that for long. He quickly became determined to fix his home. The only way to do that was to go back all those years, back to his home time. A time machine was the only option. He immediately got to work with his new friend to create a time machine to save his home.
The time machine was completed in one month. Parker and his friend were exhausted from working tirelessly day and night. They decided to rest for one night and go back in time the next day.
The next day, they went through the machine and talked with Parker’s old friends as if he never left. However, the chit chat ended quickly as Parker had to get to work telling everyone about the bleak future.
EVERYONE! I NEED YOUR ATTENTION! I’ve been to the future. The home you know and love will soon be destroyed from the rising temperatures you feel right now. Carbon is rapidly filling the air because of the humans expanding their technology.

This carbon is trapping too much heat in the atmosphere, causing the temperature to rise. The temperature will eventually rise high enough to melt our home. I know this sounds like a lot, but we still have time to change things.
Don’t believe them! Look at us now. We are happy and cool. He is just trying to start a ruckus and panic. He doesn’t even have any proof that he went to the future.

Frankie's right. Parker has always been a little immature. Look at us, we’re fine right now. We should just enjoy life.

Parker was beaten down, but he knew he had to continue his fight. He couldn’t let his home be destroyed. He went home, but he told himself he would be back the next day with evidence.
As Parker was going to sleep for the night when he suddenly thought that he should explain carbon trapping heat in a simplified way. He immediately got up and prepared a presentation on the greenhouse effect.
Everyone! Let me tell you about the greenhouse effect and why you should care about it.

The greenhouse effect is essentially the way our atmosphere stays relatively warm. Think of it like a greenhouse. When sunlight warms up the greenhouse. The greenhouse has glass walls and it traps the heat in there.
Our atmosphere works the same way, except the carbon dioxide are the glass walls. Humans are burning up lots of fossil fuels and generating lots of carbon dioxide. This carbon is clogging up the atmosphere and trapping all the heat. Our home is going to get melted away!

He’s right. It has been getting hotter lately. Even if he hasn’t gone to the future, this explanation makes sense. This is undeniable proof. We need to get to work!
