There once was a dragon named Draco who couldn’t breathe out fire. The other fire dragons used to laugh at him and call him the fireless dragon.

He had no friends and he sat alone on the cliff watching the other dragons play ‘catch the prey’ games as they burnt the birds with their breath and feasted on them.

A baby dragon who was still learning to fly got excited and opened his wings and tried to fly but instead he fell in the river below and started drowning.

None of the dragons tried to save the baby dragon as fire dragons are scared of water.

 But  brave Draco jumped into the river to save the baby.

The minute he went under water, his wings turned into fins and he got gills. 

In that moment Draco realised that he was a water dragon.

He saved the baby dragon and in the process found himself.

All the other dragons stopped making fun of him and he became their hero.

All the dragons, including Draco learnt a lesson that  overcoming your fears, helps you find your true self and your real gifts.

When we feel we are different from others, we should not focus on trying to become like them. Instead we should focus on our own gifts and that will help us become the best version of ourself.
