BOOK  DEDICATION

Dedicated to Kaz Uenaga as an inspiration for the character of this book. He is my Mom's friend from Okinawa, Japan. He was a part of her life while stationed with my dad and myself in Japan with the USMC.

Konnichiwa! My name is Kaz! Today, I will be talking about the history of JAXA and its contributions to space travel! But before that, let me introduce myself.

Ever since I was young I had been obsessed with the stars. Eventually, I became a worker at JAXA. Or, to be more specific, I work at the Space Applications Mission Directorate, where we make our state of the art Satellites. But without further ado, let's talk about JAXA's history!

JAXA started in 2003 when NASDA and ISAS  (Which had both done their fair share in improving space travel and research, including the Osumi Satellite) merged together into the current Organization we know today as JAXA.  

Later on, JAXA made the important module "Kibo" for the ISS and the probe "Hayabusa" that collected material from the asteroid belt.
