
LAND:
1. Mountain/Mount:
Area that much higher than the surrounding land which is very
tall and has a pointed top. Example: Himalaya (Mountains/Nepal),
Barisan (Mountains/Aceh-Lampung), Agung (Mount/Bali) and
Merap(Mount/Central Java).
2. Highland
A flat area which is 500 meters or more above sea level. The soil in
highland is usually fertile and the air is cool. For example: Dieng
highland (Central Java), Gayo highland (North Sumatra), and
Alas highland (Aceh).
3. Lowland
Part of land which is low. The height is between 0-500 meters
above sea level. Lowlands are used by people for different
purposes, such as for trading, housing, office buildings, industry,
and agriculture. For example: Semarang lowland (Central Java),
Palembang lowland (South Sumatra), Madiun Lowland (East
Java)
4. Hill
Area that higher than the surrounding land (shorter than
mountain/mount) which has a rounded top. For example:
Sumedang hill (West Java), Kidul hill (East Java), and Meratus hill
(South Kalimantan).
5. Valley
Areas of lowland that is in between mountains or hills. For
example: Baliem valley (West Papua), Anai valley (West Sumatra)
and Pantunan valley (Bali).
6. Lake
Body of water which is surrounded by land. For Example: Ranau
lake (Lampung), Toba lake (North Sumatra) and Singkarak (West
Sumatra).
