I am Feroz Shah Tughlaq. I belong to the Tughlaq Dynasty. In this book, I will tell you how my rule began and how it ended.

I succeeded Muhammad Ibn Tughlaq. I was a Turkish Muslim ruler. After my cousin, Muhammad Ibn Tughlaq's death, a situation was confronted where no one was ready to accept the reins of power. With much difficulty, the camp followers convinced me to take responsibility. With this, my reign had begun in 1351.
How My Rule Began

Feroz Shah Tughlaq
I supported the group of those conservative Muslim saints and nobles who were against the liberal religious policy of Muhammad Tughluq and I desired to change it after his death. That group became the champion of his cause. I, in turn, tried to please that group. That is why, during my march from Thatta to Delhi, I visited the Majors (graves) of every Sunni saint on the route, gave respect to every living Sunni saint and always expressed faith in principles of Sunni sect of the Muslims.
My Achievements
I was not good at warfare but I looked after the people's welfare. I opened colleges and places of learning that were attached to mosques. I started irrigation of farmlands by having canals dug to improve agriculture and the life of peasants. In addition to that, 150 wells were dug, and wheat, sugarcane, and fruits were grown extensively.
I was a master builder and equalled the Roman Emperor Augustus' love for building. I constructed 5 towns, 30 palaces, 200 caravan serais, 100 bridges, 1200 gardens, 10 monumental pillars, and 10 public baths. I also had one of Ashoka's pillars brought to Ferozabad from Ajmer.
