According to my laptop's clock, it is "8:00 pm, Monday," but here I am browsing my Instagram feed to find something interesting. As I scan my feed, I saw a woman doing a cross-stitch of a phoenix in the sky. I suddenly remember that this the famous form of embroidery that most of the ladies did during the middle ages.

It is part of the noble ladies' education before, but it is now a hobby of some people as the world change. After browsing different cross-stitch, I ask myself, how can a person create this kind of art/have the patience to do so?
As someone who is not good with her hands in doing such things and does not have the patience to do so, it is challenging. Also, during this time, I realize that aside from watching dramas and reading books/manhua, I did not do anything! I did not develop any new hobbies.

Luckily, my mom still has her cross-stitch materials because that was her hobby when she was pregnant to me. The next day after class, I started with basics. While doing it, I feel like I've aged five years.
Now I know the reason why a lot of people engage in this activity. Aside from it can help you relax for a while, it is healthy, as I am not in front of my laptop and absorbing its radiation most of the time.
It also helps me to think and reflect on things. The curiosity I felt before doing it now turns into the courage to continue it. Challenging myself during this busy time is indeed a pleasant memory to store.
It is rare for me to do things outside my comfort zone, but I will continue to do so. I may rest for a while but will not quit. Quoting someone, “If you quit on the process, you are quitting on the result.”
The personal philosophy I read, "Keep stretching and challenging yourself." is something I will do from now on, and will not afraid to move forward.
