When I was younger I had heard about endangered species but never knew anything about them. I never truly thought about the effect it would have on us if they were gone. All animals are invaluable and important. Now that I’m older I’ve had time to think about that and I see now that we need to save them for our sake and theirs. Why? Because….
Reason #5 Ecosystem Functionality
If the habitats animals and plants live in and migrate through are in better condition they'll withstand harsh changes better and will be more productive.
Reason #4 They Need Space to Live
Humans are changing and destroying the ecosystem, leaving animals and plants fewer places to call home. All of the building, logging and pollution cause harm to the environment. On top of that the human population increases making the land we use expand.
Reason #3 The Natural Waste Disposal Process
Trees and plants filter out the carbon dioxide and other waste that comes from the environment. Due to logging and deforestation the rate at which that happens is decreasing and could possibly make that problem worse.

Reason #2 Ecosystem Services
Plants and animals make huge contributions to the environment like filtering the air or fertilizing the soil. It would be a lot harder to make oxygen and filter it than it would be to let plants and trees make it. Fungi and bugs fertilize and keep the soil healthy. Bees pollinate plants.

Reason #1 The Species of Earth Depend on Each Other to Live
All of us on Earth need each other, especially us humans. Nature provides organisms with food, shelter and a place to live. Animals keep each other's populations in check so there isn't overpopulation but, we wouldn’t want them to go extinct.
