Let's start with someone like Ronaldo.
Ronaldo wanted to become a football player when he grew up but he didn't begin like this; he trained for many years to accomplish his dream of becoming a football player. Starting from low experience to one of the world's most famous football stars.

Another example is Bill Gates:
His dream was for everyone to have a computer in their homes; this made him create a Software called Microsoft. Though he was very successful, he didn't start like that. He grew with experience from a little nerd to one of the most richest men in the world!
Last but not least is Nelson Mandela.
He was arrested and sent to jail twice for standing up to black rights but that didn't stop him from trying to accomplish his dream of having Africa to live in peace. It didn't come true but he didn't give up no matter what.
Back to children, little kids of 2-5 years struggle a lot because they lack experience as for when they learn and work, they will be confident in their skills and brain capacity for their work at the age of 8+. This will take many years -like Ronaldo- depending on their skill and confidence.
People like my 3-year old little brother, Edwin, are less educated and don't bother to work or pay attention at school; this is because they lack skill.
(This is not my little brother by the way)

I have many special talents and skills of my own but this one is truly special to me because I did it without knowing I could at first, no-one helped me AND I learnt how to do it whenever I wanted to! It's called gleeking
I am ten and have experience in my work but I am not saying I never fail or I am the best; I am just saying that experience never pops out . It comes from your brain and nowhere else. The reason why you need confidence is because if -for example- you want to be a teacher, you need confidence to talk to the audience (the children in his/her class) and if again you want to be a famous youtuber, you need experience to edit videos and confidence for everyone to see what you do.
(Again, this is not me)

So the reason why it's important is because it boosts your experience and you can accomplish many things like the examples I showed you (see pages 2 - 7 if you want to read again)

Experience:
Confidence:
This kid over here is bored of the lesson; not all the times but this could sometimes mean he lacks skill or intelligence. Again, this is not 100% always but it could be because either his brain hasn't developed this or he is just too bored.
What I sometimes do is try but not worry that much with iQ or brain capacity on some subjects like English...
…and learn, focus and concentrate on some other things like R.E., P.E., Maths and Topic. I love Maths so much that I'm even one of the highest people in Maths and I'm in the highest class!
