My new life! Emma is a high school student. She loves studying and going to school where she meets her friends. She is very friendly and everyone in her class is happy with her. But one day, suddenly, her school was closed by the authorities because the covid virus little by little was spreading all over the world and people had to stay at home to avoid infections. She was very happy at first because they could have a two week holiday from school so she could rest and enjoy doing what she liked most. Unfortunately days, weeks and months passed, but school couldn’t open she couldn’t go out, meet her friends, even hug her parents and the situation got worse and worse. Emma’s happiness started to decrease and a feeling of uncertinity and loss became very strong. She had started to attend on line classes but it wasn’t the same as the usual classes at school. There was no chance! Little by little she got used to them. She decided to create ‘her own island’ in her room and thanks to her teachers she was experimenting new strategies and new tools, mainly the digital ones. She spent a lot of time on line also to chat with her friends, she was very sensitive and she could perceive all the problems her classmates were suffering of. So , she usually got in touch with them and that’s why she realised that one of her friends, Ali, very shy, she had met on the first school day, wasn’t attending the classes and, very worried, called him to invite him to be present. When Emma phoned him, he was very surprised but happy to hear his friend. They started a long conversation … He was very disappointed, worried and disoriented. Ali told her that he was stressed and bored about the lockdown and he always ate junk food and spent all the days on his bed surfing the net. As a consequence he had gained weight and was very depressed. Emma represented his rescue, he had realised he wasn’t alone and also his friends were forced to live that way but, though the pandemic, life had to be lived in the best possible way. First he started to attend his on line classes, then he became very active and interested in the new school. He was very curious about the digital tools the teachers suggested to use and he became very good at using them. Now he has accepted that he has to live like that but he is not alone. His friends, first of all Emma, has helped him to realise that everyone is strong enough to face any new situation, thanks to one’s friends. Now Emma is much more satisfied!
If we protect ourselves, coronaviruses never affect to us. For example we should wear a mask because when we wear a mask, we are closing the paths of the virus. Also we can stay at home. Our houses are clean. I mean when we stay clean places, we can save ourselves.
Shortly, we have to follow rules, doctor's rules because they know coronavirus's effects. Life is hard in nowadays. If we follow rules, we can be free in life.
During this Pandemic , we had to stay home, for teenagers it was especially difficult because we are at a time of our lives when we are very active and love being with our friends. So we stayed home, read, played guitar, sang , or painted, those who are good at this and most of us did physical exercise which was good for the mind and body. But the fact remains that even if we invented activities to go through this forced isolation better, our home still felt like a prison, a jail, because we stayed home for months, saw no friends or family in person and could only contact them through computers or the cellphone. We felt like prisoners in our own home, We hope this feeling ends soon.
This is a war and a success story. Once upon a time, a disease appeared in a faraway place but in a short time it spread all over the world. At first, the disease was thought to be a pneumonia, but it was later found to be a deadly and contagious virus. Its name was COVID-19. The death numbers were increasing day by day and people were helpless. Something had to be done. The meetings were held and it was decided to gather scientists from all over the world on an artificial island which was created on the Atlantic Ocean. The scientists were transported to the island in special crafts with an extreme attention and they started their studies there immediately. They were working together regardless of religion, language, race or colour because they had only one aim: to defeat the virus. Meantime, the people were in the quarantine. They could not go out due to curfews many times. Most of the people lost their jobs. The death rate was still high. The health and military workers were working hard to make the things right. They were like superheroes. Soon good news came from the island. The scientists had produced a vaccine and they had to experiment it first because they had to be sure before they took the vaccine out of island. The health workers and some scientists sacrificed themselves and they tried the vaccine first. The results were very good. The vaccine had almost no side effect. In a short time, the medicine was delivered to all around the world and the people were vaccinated. Despite many difficulties, all the people worked together and stopped the virus.
We must wear a mask to protect against COVID-19. This includes healthcare professionals and they constantly strive for our health. Of course, all people in the world are getting used to it, so we are happy with the mask now. We have to wash our hands with soap for 20 seconds. And we must follow the 1.5-meter rule. And we need to be vaccinated to protect against corona. Corona affected the lessons, unfortunately we had to continue the lessons online.
I woke up at 10 am and I joined my online classes without having a breakfast. Everyday seemed the same. I couldn’t go anywhere. I sat in my room thinking about my future and it didn’t look bright at all. After my classes were over, I ate something and I got back to my room. I sat in my chair in order to finish my homework. Somehow, I felt really tired even though I didn’t do anything. I fell asleep without even noticing. After a while I woke up because my arm was sore and my phone was ringing. My friend was calling me to invite me to dinner in somewhere. I immediately prepared and left. We met in front of our favourite restaurant just at the corner of the park. We sat and ordered our food. The music which was playing at that moment was so beautiful. After we finished our dinner, we went to the park to walk around and hangout. We laughed, we talked and had great time. It was getting late so we said goodbye to each other. We all had school the other day. While I was walking home alone, I was whispering that beautiful song and I heard my name. Somebody was calling my name. I looked around but there was no one around me. The voice got louder and louder. I woke up at my desk because my arm was sore and my mom was calling me for dinner. At that moment, I was full of hope and I knew this pandemic would end very soon.
