Preface
We are a group of teachers and students who have met in "Hello, Dear Cli-Mates!" Erasmus+ KA229 and eTwinning project (2020-2022). We have done so many wonderful activities about fighting against climate change and saving our Earth so far. We have written and wanted to share the adventures of our Green Girl, a climate hero with you! Education is the key to solve many problems in the world. Through stories, we can educate people and save Earth! You are also a hero for us as you read this book and learn from it!
Hello, Dear Cli-Mates! Project Team
Erasmus+ KA229 and eTwinning

Introduction
Hello dear cli-mates!
Today is 15th May, Climate Day and I'm Green Girl. You will witness my adventures to stop climate change and save our Earth in this book.
Let's read and find out the DOs and DON'Ts to win this fight! I know we will be great heroes of the Earth all together. Are you ready?

Let's know what climate change means first!
Climate change points to the global warming by human-induced emissions of greenhouse gases and the resulting large-scale shifts in weather patterns and there are a number of factors that cause climate change and it has great impact in not only human life but also whole ecosystem. Let's start with air pollution as a big cause for climate change!

Air pollution
Day 1
After this super day, Green girl left for Michelangelo....

Greenhouse Effect
SSIG "Michelangelo" di Bari, Italy
(Carla Serravezza)
Green girl arrived in SSIG Michelangelo
Day 2
Green girl was checking the town to see if people respected their environment. She saw a lot of cars emitting polluting gases.

The cars and factories' gas emissions are increasing the greenhouse effect! I must do something!
I must clean up everything!

Good job! Never pollution again with clean energy produced by solar panels and wind turbines... But now it's up to the people to do their part!

They're more expensive...
Why don't you use an electric car? It's less polluting!

After some time...

Really?! You convinced me! My future car will be electric!

When you buy it, but recharging it's much cheaper, you save a lot of money over time!

I’m sorry, at the moment it isn’t possible here… but soon
I ‘ll equip myself...
Good morning! Where can I charge my electric car?
Time passes...

I think everything is okay here now, I can go to Vila Rodona now...
Water Pollution
Escola Bernardí Tolrà, Catalonia, Spain
(Gemma Domingo Ricart)
Day 3

OMG! Lots of rubbish everywhere!
That's a disaster!
What can we do?

Together, we've done a hard work! Finally, the river is clean and life is back again!
Now, time to visit İstanbul!

Climate change and Deforestation
Good morning, my dear students, today we are going to learn about how deforestation and climate change are related and we have a special guest for that!

Day 4

Climate change and Deforestation
Welcome dear Green Girl! You are a great hero. We need your experience and help to learn what causes of climate change and how we can stop climate change!

Hello dear Mr. Jackson and friends! Today we will have a short green trip! Are you ready for a dream? Just close your eyes and count to ten!

Welcome to Woodland my dear friends! Here is the green paradise of our Earth!

Green girl! This must be a real paradise. We have never seen such a beautiful place in our city before! And we wonder why?

Let's hear the reasons from our friends! They have a lot to say!

Hi, children! Forests are our only home! However, people have been destroying our home for years in many ways like...

They cut down trees sometimes just to earn money, build cities, create papers, farming, grazing of livestock, mining, and drilling...They cause deforestation!
They set the forests on fire and made our friends homeless and die out! They destroy the wildlife and ecosystem which will eternally destroy their future, too. I hope they will see that soon before it is too late for all of us!
We don't deserve to lose our habitat and the Earth doesn't deserve so much carbon dioxide because of fires! We need you to be more careful and raise awareness about the importance of forests! They shouldn't cut down or burn trees for money or carelessly!

Dear friends, let me tell you how deforestation threatens our future in detail! Forests absorb not only the carbon dioxide that we exhale but also the greenhouse gases that result from the human activities for urbanization. When there is no forest, these gases heat the atmosphere and cause global warming and climate change. So, the forests save our Earth, our life and animals, then why don't we save forests?

You are so right Green girl! We need forests for a greener future and breathe deeper and fresher! We don't want our friends to be homeless and we want green areas to run and play as the children who lived years ago. We want to stop global warming, save our forests, but how can we do that Green girl? Guide us!

Follow me then, my little cli-mates!

The best ways to stop deforestation are to plant trees and take care of them besides starting campaigns to make people hear us!
Let's start with planting trees!

I have green arrows for you! Let's plant them to let us our Earth breathe!

Yeess! Let's do it Green girl, you are great! Operation green arrows! Understood!

We did it, Green Girl!
Thank you so much for guiding us to help our Earth against deforestation and global warming.

Now, it is our turn to start a campaign and increase the number of green heroes in our city! We will be a big family of Green Girl!

Then, it is time to turn back to our school and start a green act for our future! I'm proud of you, my little green heroes!

Welcome again! Did you enjoy your green trip? What did you do?
It was great, Mr. Jackson! We learned a lot to save our Earth against global warming and climate change. We will stop deforestation all together for that! We will start a campaign and teach everyone why we need forests!
I will be waiting to hear of your campaign dear green students! We are together in this :)

Let's prepare a magazine to inform people about the deforestation! Work in groups and give it a start with our cover page!
Students work in groups for a while.....

We are grateful for this great activity, Green girl! Thank you so much!
And I'm also grateful to all of you who are determined to save our forests and stop climate change for a sustainable future! You made a great magazine! Stay green everyone! I must go to Timisoara now...
Thank you Green girl!
Saving energy
Scoala Gimnaziala Nr. 19 „Avram Iancu, Romania

Oh no! This house is wasting energy! We should do something about this.
Day 5

Oh! It is very cluterd in here! We should save some energy!

First, we should turn off the tap. Now let's get the pots off of the stove and turn it and the oven off.

We should also stop the microwave, as well as unplugging the unnecessary stuff.

This place is saving so much energy now! We did a great job!
