Once upon a time, there was a gigantic giraffe in the great grasslands of the Congo.
The Gigantic Giraffe was lucky because his neck was so long he could reach the food, not only on the ground but on the tallest trees too.
One day the Gigantic Giraffe's friend, the Zealous Zebra came by for a visit!
He looked sad, and tired so the Gigantic Giraffe asked what was wrong?

What's wrong??
The Zealous Zebra responded...

I'm so hungry, it hasn't rained in so long that all the food is drying up, and we can't eat!
The Gigantic Giraffe felt terrible for his friend. He reached up to the tippy top of a tree and pulled down some leaves for the Zealous Zebra to eat.

How are the other animals doing?
Asked the Giraffe.

Not good, there is little food left, and the other animals are hungry too. Leo the Lion has called for a meeting of all the animals of the Savannah to decide what to do about it.

Leo the Lion was the bravest of all the animals in the Savannah. He was kind and courageous and was the leader of the animals in the savannah.
He had called a meeting to talk about the lack of food in the savannah. They had been in a drought for so long now, that all the plants had dried up. The other animals looked up to the brave Lion for guidance and questioning.

All the animals were discussing where they were to go? What they were to do? How were they going to find food?

suggested the mighty elephant.
I think it is time to leave the savannah, and go find somewhere with food.

are you crazy? The savannah is huge, it would take way too long to get out of here, and find somewhere else.
Argued the Zealous Zebra

Finally, their leader Leo the Lion spoke up.

I agree with the mighty elephant. There is nothing left for us here. We must take a chance and find somewhere else with food and water.

The animals respected the courage, and intelligence of the Lion and did as he said.

That very night the animals packed their things up

and left in search of a better home.
They traveled all day through many lands strange and new to them.

They traveled all night just hoping they could find a new home more hospitable than their last!

They continued on and on, and it seemed like forever. The savannah never seemed to end, and they were getting more, and more tired.
