Many, many years ago, a dragon lived on the island of Borneo; he had his cave on top of Mount Kinabalu.

This was a peaceful dragon and did not bother the inhabitants of the island. He had a pearl of enormous size and every day he played with it: he threw the pearl into the air and then picked it up with his mouth.

That pearl was so beautiful that many had tried to steal it. But the dragon guarded it very carefully; for that reason, nobody had been able to obtain it.
The Emperor of China decided to send his son to the island of Borneo; He called the young Prince and said:

My son, the dragon pearl must be part of the imperial treasure. I'm sure you will find a way to bring it to me.
After several weeks of crossing, the Prince reached the shores of Borneo.
In the distance stood Mount Kinabalu, and at the top of the mount the dragon played with the pearl.
Suddenly, the Prince began to smile because he had made a plan. He called his men and said:
I need a round paper lantern and a kite that can hold me in the air.
The men began to work and soon they made a paper lantern. After seven days of work, they made a very beautiful kite, which could withstand the weight of a man. At dusk, the wind began to blow. The Prince mounted the kite and soared into the air.
The night was very dark when the Prince got off the kite on top of the mountain and slipped into the cave.
the dragon was sleeping soundly. Carefully, the Prince seized the pearl, replaced the paper lantern, and escaped from the cave. So he got on the kite and turned on a light.
