When Hitler started invading parts of Europe, Mussolini initially did not support his actions. Over time, Mussolini grew to support his xenophobic and invasive actions.
When Italy joined the Axis powers they were not ready for such a large war. The Italian people would soon want out of the war. Mussolini however thought that the war would be good for the people of Italy
Italy could not sustain such a large war. They soon would want out of the war due to lack of supplies
Mussolini and Hitler, alongside Japan, formed the Axis Powers. Together, they were the primary leaders of aggressive attacks during WW2. Fighting against them were the Allied Powers that consisted of France, Britain, Russia, and the United States.

In 1943, as a result of the unwanted war, Mussolini was removed from power by his parliament and imprisoned. However, German soldiers were able to break him free and Hitler put Mussolini back in charge of Northern Italy, which was controlled by Germany at the time.
By 1945, the Allies had taken over all of Italy and Mussolini fled for his life, only to be caught and killed by his own people. It is thought that his humiliating death was a key factor in Hitler's suicide.
