Today is my birthday! I am so excited, and I can hardly wait until my party this evening. My mom bought decorations and food, and papa painted me a beautiful birthday banner.

At school, everyone wished me a happy birthday. My friends were all excited about my party, except for Penny.

She seemed a bit sad today.

Class ended, and it was time to leave.

Everyone grabbed their things, then headed home. I noticed Penny left without me today. My party starts in a few hours, so maybe she's just going home to get ready.

The house was filled with balloons, flowers, and a purple birthday banner. Everything looked wonderful!

I hurried to get ready, but I still worried about my friend.

Everyone showed up except for Penny. An hour had already passed, and still no sign of her. Other guests had already arrived, so I couldn't make everyone wait, so I just had to do my best to enjoy my day without her.
