      Once upon a time, long ago in a 

village far in the woods lived Melissa and 

her family. Melissa went to school every 

day. She learned how to read and write. 

One day Melissa learned about animals and 

why they were dying.

  Melissa told her mom and dad that she 

needed to find a solution to fix it so the 

animals would stop dying. Melissa’s mom 

said it was impossible so did her dad. But 

Melissa would not give up she needed to 

help.   So she went to the old wise man to 

give her an idea. 

      The next time Melissa went to school, 

which was the next day, she learned that 

polar bears are dying because they have no 

where to live. Also, polar bears have to 

swim miles to get to shore. Then Melissa 

came up with a plan! She could go and talk 

to the polar bears and seals!
