Classroom Expectations: What does that
mean? I know what a classroom is but what
are expectations.
Talk to your neighbor about what the word
expectations mean.

Here is the door to our classroom. Do you
have expectations about the classroom?
Do you have expectations about me?
Do you have expectations about your
classmates?
Do I have expectations about me?
Do I have expectations about each of you?
The answer to all of these
questions is YES!

Talk to your neighbor about what you
expect.
Now talk to your table about what each of you
expect.
What do you expect in this classroom?
What do you expect from your classmates?
What do you expect from me, your teacher?

What do you expect from yourself?
What can I expect from you?
What can your classmates expect from you?
Now as a group list your groups
CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
Be ready to share out in 10 minutes

Please post your expectations on the wall
so that everyone can read them.
Now we are going to walk around and read
all of the expectations we have come up
with. Please have a marker with you.
Each group stand where your paper is and
when I say go move clockwise to the next
paper.
Put a star by expectations you think we should
have and an X by the ones you don't.

READ EACH ONE AND THINK ABOUT
IT BEFORE YOU MARK IT.
GO!

see if we can select 5 expectations that
we all can agree on.
These will become our class rules or
our Classroom Expectations.
All of us will follow these rules.

It will take all of us to
do our best to follow
these rules. Thank you
for working hard on
creating them.
Hugs, J. Long
