Prologue
Hello, friends! My name is Haley Brannon, and I am a senior at UNT, pursuing my degree in teaching. My family is made up of many different people with many different stories to tell. This story comes from memories from my grandmother, mother, and father. The stories in this book come from over 20 years ago, when the world was much different. I hope you enjoy!

My grandma was born in Puerto Rico in 1963. During this year, cassette tapes were invented, The Beatles released their 1st song, and Martin Luther King Jr delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech.

When my grandma was young, people had to go to the library if they wanted to learn new information. There were no phones and there was in internet.
My grandmother used to send letters to her friends and actually meet up to talk. Now, they text can each other from their phones.

News travelled so slow when my grandmother was growing up. People actually read the news from a newspaper! Now, everyone can see everything if you post it online.
