My Mexican-American Culture
By Marelyn Balderas
My parents are from Guanajuato, Mexico. A town called San Diego de la Union, to be exact. It has a total population of about 40,000 people.
My brothers and I were born in Dallas, Texas. Dallas has an estimated population of about 1,343,000 people. My parents immigrated here in 1991 to give us a better chance in life.

Both Mexico and America have really delicious food. And luckily, in America we have access to both countries cuisines (and more)!

Apple pie
Elote
Macaroni and Cheese
Tortillas

Hot dog
Tamales
Pizza
Hamburger
Flan
Tacos
In Mexico, some holidays that we celebrate include:
Dia de Muertos
Dia de la Independencia

Dia de la Virgen de Guadalupe
Nochebuena y Navidad

Similarly, in America we celebrate:

Halloween

Independence day/ 4th of July

Christmas

Martin Luther King Jr. Day
