The first thing you might think of when you say Canada is . . . the flag! It's bright red maple leaf in the center makes it very recognizable and brings a smile to everyone.

Maple trees are found all across Canada. There are over 100 different kinds of maple trees in the world, 10 of which are native to Canada. Maples are famous for their brilliant fall colors. What colors do you see?
Do you know the sweet sap that comes from maple trees? Yes, it's maple syrup. In fact, Canada makes the most maple syrup in the whole world! People love to pour it over pancakes and waffles . . . yummy!

The clear sap drops out of the tree into buckets. Farmers collect the syrup, process it into syrup, then put it into bottles to sell. Have you ever tasted maple syrup before? How does it taste?

Another famous thing about Canada is the CN Tower located in the big city of Toronto. It is one of the tallest structures in the whole world standing at over 555 meters high!
People from all over the world come to see Niagra Falls, which is shaped like a horseshoe. It's one of the "Natural Wonders of the World". If you visit the falls, be sure you take a boat ride at the bottom!

Hockey is a beloved Canadian sport. It is played with a stick and a puck. Each team has five players and a goalie. There is a referee as well. They wear skates to move quickly along the ice. It's a very exciting game . . . "He shoots, he scores!!!!!"

Let's meet some of Canada's amazing animals. Moose are the world's largest deers. They have huge antlers.
Beavers have big, flat tails and cut down trees with their teeth to make their dens.

Raccoons live in the woods and have a black 'mask' on their face. They also have a long tail with black rings. This is a baby raccoon. Is he cute?

This lovely little bird is called a Blue Jay. It's mostly blue, with a little black and white. It's known as a songbird.
The Canada Goose is a beautiful bird with a long, black neck. It's head is also black but with white cheeks. In the winter, Canadian geese fly south in the shape of a "V".

Two animals that live in the far north of Canada are the polar bear and Arctic fox. Do you know why their fur white?
