Author's note

My name is Hailey, I'm 9 years old. I have a brother, he's 6 years old and his name is Bryan. I read a lots of books in my life, since I learned to read words and write in English. My family don't speak English ourselves when we are together, I only speak English at school or with our neighbors. I speak Chinese with my family. The Cantonese Language.

When I was little, I lived in China and the city of Hong Kong. I was born there, instead my whole family was born there, but not my grandma and grandpa. In my very old, old, house was small it has just two rooms and one bathroom, it was where I lived when I was first born. 

Chapter one

            Where I lived.

Before my little brother was born, my family moved to another house, that was when I was a little smaller than a halfway to three years old. In that new house my family got there were three rooms and two bathrooms. It was still a apartment though. And soon we got my little brother, Bryan.

In my country was a bunch of people. And small houses. We have a lot of apartments in Hong Kong there were almost no houses. They were all tall, but thin. There were lots of peoples in Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean parks, too. Inside there, there were a lot of rides, amusement, and stores, too. Every birthday a went to Disneyland with my family, uncles, aunties, cousins and grandparents and celebrate my birthday.

 In Ocean park, there were animals, like penguins and other sea animals or arctic animals. And there was a restaurant, too, when you eat you can watch penguins swim and watch the penguin care team throw food to the water and the penguins will catch it.

My best friend was Giselle and she was my first friend + best friend, too. She is in where I used to live, Hong Kong. We met in a club house and we were at the same school ,too, well at kindergarten. But then we kept playing together, Giselle lives at the next apartment that is in front of mine. 

Chapter two 

My best & first friend.

We do ballet together, too. We were almost like twins. But, when I moved here it was quite a problem, we didn't want to l leave one another, but we had to. When it was time for me to leave it's time, before that we spend soo much time together. When that day I had to leave I left when I got to the airport, me and Giselle had a meeting with one another. 

Chapter three

         When we moved here

It was a sad time when I moved here, we had a lot of parties before me moved here, with my families and friends. I also had a reason why we did, it's because, the china president is trying to get control of us, he didn't want us to have freedom, now in china there are a lot of new rules, too, me, my family, is not happy with this,

and he's also trying to take our language away.
