In the beginning of 1974, Grandpa was ten years old. Most of my memories that year are from the farm and from a 250 pound console TV. A Color TV, mind you! Big bird was yellow, Looney Tunes jumped off the screen with color. I watched the World Series with my mom, the Oakland A’s yellow uniform against the bright green grass. The Dodger blue, it was awesome.

Grandpa’s favorite sitcom started that year - Happy Days. I remember watching American Bandstand and game shows, Match Game and Tattletales. The whole family would gather around the TV after the cows were milked every evening, watching Carol Burnett, Laugh In, and of course every western my dad liked. It was a great time of my life.

This memory book was made more for me, than for my grandkids, but I hope they still enjoy it.
