Sophie's POV:
Sophie yawned before jerking her head up. She was going to be late! Again.... She grabbed her stuff and practically flew out the door, yelling "Bye Mum! Bye Dad!" as she went. Stuffing a random piece of something that looked like pink cake into her mouth, she shot out the door, patted Luna, and light leaped away.
Keefe's POV:
"Keefe Sencen!" His dad snapped. Keefe took it that his dad had tried the mallowmelt...he ran down the stairs to find a usually very intimidating man sporting a bright pink moustache and a spiky green mohawk. Holding in a snigger, he shot out the door with his stuff before his dad registered what happened. "See ya, Daddio!" he yelled and light leaped away. His dad stood there, shaking angrily, watching the spot where his son disappeared.
Sophie's POV:
Sophie was quickly greeted by a flustered brunette with shining teal eyes. "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh! Sophie, Sophie, Sophie!" She cried, grabbing Sophie's hands and spinning her around till Sophie stepped back dizzily. "Wh-what is it Bi-biana?" She asked shakily. Surprisingly, Biana was not the slightest bit dizzy and jumped around some more. After calming down, she looked Sophie straight in the eyes. "There's a new kid starting today!" Sophie perked up immediately. "Where is she? Can I meet her?" Biana laughed at her friend's reaction. "HE's a boy!"
Keefe's POV:
This was Keefe's first day of school- ever. His whole life his father had kept him isolated from the world. Homeschooled, no friends. But today was a new day. A new life! Keefe couldn't wait. In his excitement he ran into the school and stood there in awe of its beauty. Before he was barreled over and came face to face to a completely different "beauty".
Sophie's POV:
A boy? Sophie didn't get it. She knew plenty of boys. How could this one be different? But according to her hyper friend, this boy was VERY different. Sophie could only hope that was a GOOD thing. She yelped. In pondering what Biana had meant, she had missed the first few minutes of class. Sprinting down the hall, she started undoing her bag- BANG! She fell smack bang into a tall boy, tripping them both over. She lay on top of his chest and looked into his ice- blue eyes. Her gaze traveled up to his messy blonde hair and back down again. She was frozen and hoped he couldn't feel her heart pounding so fast that she was afraid it would explode.
Keefe's POV:
Wow. The prettiest girl he had ever seen WAS LAYING ON TOP OF HIM. He felt his heart skip a beat. Her long, blonde hair spilled over her shoulder onto his, but the most striking thing of all about her was her eyes. They dipped from light brown to dark, evenly sprinkled with golden flecks. He had NEVER, EVER seen an elf with brown eyes, especially eyes as pretty as hers...he realised he'd been staring, and she was frozen on top of him. "Enjoying the view?" He finally spoke. The girl blushed and picked herself up. "I-I'm cute- I mean you're cute- NO! Wait no I- ugh...." The girl's face now resembled a tomato. "I'm Sophie. Sophie Foster," she said meekly, staring down at her feet. He lifted her chin up so close to his face he could feel her tiny puffs of breath. "Keefe. Keefe Sencen," he replied before walking off with a smile, leaving her hanging there, eyes wide.
Sophie's POV:
Why on Earth was she stuttering like that? She was fine now...BUT WAIT. She had just told a boy she thought he was cute- UGH! What was wrong with her? She saw a familiar brown haired girl through a classroom window checking the time. Biana! Dang it, late to class again. Across the hall, she saw the new boy, no, KEEFE, sitting on a round windowsill looking out at the view. She smiled and headed into her classroom.
Keefe's POV:
Keefe watched the world from the windowsill, trying to clear his head. God, that girl was cute, he thought, before shaking his head as if to clear the thought away. Little did he know that from the classroom behind him, a certain blonde watched his every move...
Sophie's POV:
All the way home, Sophie thought about Keefe. Her mum gave her a goofy smile. "Anyone in particular you're thinking about?" she asked. "WHAT?! MUM! NO!" She practically yelled before racing up to her room and flopping onto her bed. Jeez, parents sure could be annoying! She hugged her bright blue stuffed elephant, Ella. "One night," she murmured into her pillow, "one night until I can see him again,". Her eyes shut and her face softened as she relaxed into her pillow and fell asleep. Little did she know, a certain shadow watched her every move, scowling at her words...
Keefe's POV:
"I think you like her," Ro, Keefe's mischievous bodyguard declared. Her pink ponytails did NOT match her big, hulking ogre looks, let alone her usual smirk. "Huh? What? SHE'S JUST A VERY CUTE FRIEND!" He cried. Ro raised her eyebrows. "Come on, spill. I can tell when a boy is crushing on a girl- it's a seventh sense!" Keefe rolled his eyes at the pig- tailed ogre, before laying down and "spilling".
Sophie's POV:
Sophie was the most excited about school than she had ever been- even more than when she first moved to the Lost Cities. She hummed as she brushed her hair, golden locks spilling over her perfectly pressed uniform. I can't wait to see him, she thought. Her stomach did a little nervous flip when she thought of him and she smiled to herself. I don't know what this feeling is, she thought, but I like it.
