The moon festival is a time to come together with your family and celebrate when the moon is nice and full. It's on September 21st on the Lunar calendar, and on the on the solar calendar it is August 18th.

Legend

The festival comes with an urban legend of sorts. The story goes that there was a hero named hou yi. Where hou yi lived it was too hot there were 10 suns. One day after one too many people had suffered from the suns, he shot 9 of them out of the sky, only 1 remained.
