no water, no life, no blue, no green

What is a coral reef?
-The coral reef is an underwater mountain formed by coral skeletons. The coral reef is brightly colored and can grow for hundreds of years without being killed by the sea.
-Coral is also a composition made up of millions of rather small marine animals called polyps.
-Are hollow and attach themselves to each other or to limestone that form monumental constructions. Almost all corals live together in clusters called colonies. Quite monumental colonies are called reefs. Polyps take calcium from ocean water and transform it into limestone near the underside of the body.

Types of reefs:
1-Inshore reefs: located close to the coastline, they are generally the youngest reef forms.
3-Atolls: these are reefs that also need sufficient sunlight for food. Coral reefs can also be found in the warm oceanic waters of the Pacific and Indian Oceans, as well as in the Caribbean Sea and the east coast of central South America. They can be found close to the area where they get enough sun.
