Dedicated to my future kids, always remember where you come from and never be afraid.

Hi my name is Eva. Today is a special day, it's my 15th birthday!

Being Mexican American has always been hard for me. I feel like I am not Mexican enough to be Mexican and American enough to be American.

My Spanish is not very good. Growing up in America my parents wanted me to focus on learning English.I get so embarrassed and nervous if I say a word wrong or can't understand what someone is telling me.

Although Quinceañeras are celebrated more in Mexico my family and I decided that I should embrace my Mexican culture and have a Quinceañera. My papás told me to be proud that I am Mexican American.

To start off the day my mamá will be doing my hair and makeup.

My padrinos bought me my beautiful dress and my older brother Arturo bought me my crown.

Now that I am ready we will go to la iglesia and receive my blessing from Padre Lincoln.

My parents surprised me with a white limo to take me to the party.
