Africa is the land of common hippos!

Hippos don't like to get sunburned so they roll around in the mud!

The mud covers them from head to toe. 

While most hippos like the mud,  there was one who didn't, and his name was Dex.

Dex asked the jungle animals for a place he could go with less mud?

The jungle animals told Dex he could move to the North Pole (Where Santa Lives).

Dex got so excited because he always wanted to meet Santa!

So along with his back pack he boarded an airplane and headed to the North Pole.

Dex overheard the pilot say the plane was too heavy and would have to lose some weight. Dex wondered if they were talking about him!

The pilot found dex. He said, "The plane needs to be lighter". So he gave Dex a parachute! Dex agreed to parachute off the plane.

Dex flew over the tops of mountains and great big clouds.

He was so excited as he’d never seen snow before!

As he flew, Dex imagined seeing Santa!

Dex always wanted to meet Santa! He couldn't wait to land at the North Pole and see him face to face!

On his landing, Dex noticed he wasn't in the North Pole! 

He untangled himself from a tree and discovered he was in Canada!

At First Dex was disappointed, 

but then he loved all of the nice trees and flowers. 

He even met a mountain lion and a Canadian beaver!

Dex felt tired as the day started to get dark. So he looked for a place to sleep.

He walked and came upon a nice cool cave where he could sleep for the night!

The next morning he felt something fuzzy rub against his arm! It was a Grizzly bear!

The bear woke and said, "My name's Winston. Who are you?"

"Why are you in my house?"

Dex replied, "I'm so sorry. My name is Dex. I didn't know I was in your house."

Winston replied, “It's ok, there's enough room for both of us.” Dex said, "Thank you."

They became good friends. They played hockey together.
