Christmas comes once a year, and everything must be perfect
at Santa’s Workshop. The most
important of these things is making
sure the Naughty and Nice List is
finalized. This power gets everyone
involved at the North Pole.

Since Santa is one person and is very busy all year,
the elves are the ones
monitoring all the kids each year.
They watch and determine whether
each kid is naughty or nice.

Jimmy Lee has beennaughty.
We don't think so.
However, Santa must approve the list before it ismade official. So, once they are ready, the elves
must give the list to Santa to check twice.
Usually, he agrees with the elves, but every once
in awhile, he believes someone who the elves believe
is nice is actually naughty.

When this happens, the elves have the opportunity to overrule Santa,
to make sure he is not making a mistake. If at least 700 of the 1,000
elves believe that the particular kid is actually a good kid, then the
vote passes, and the kid is once again put on the nice list, and the list
is finalized.

For naughty kids

Soon after, Christmas comes and goes, and all the nice kids
receive their toys. However, the kids who were deemed naughty
by the elves and Santa are sad when they get coal. So, many of
them may lodge their complaints.

Yay! So many toys!
But, I was nice! :(

All formal naughty complaints go before the Reindeer Court. The 9
reindeer, with Rudolph as the leader, are judges as the kids and their
parents explain why they are nice kids. Afterwards, the elves, and
sometimes even Santa, state why the kid was originally judged as
naughty.

That was our mistake. You were nice. We'll
change that
