The young man said, "We should get married & 

plan a great gupot!"

The daughter replied, "Yes, but let's get the 

approval of our fathers first."

"I'm sure our fathers will be proud," said the 

young man.

The young man asked his father, "Sainahu, 

please allow us to get married."

The Talo'fo'fo chief agreed and said, "My son 

will be marrying a beautiful woman."

The Tomhom Chief said, "You two shall have 

a great wedding & our villages shall be 

united."

The happy young man told his wife, "I 

love you."

She replied, "I love you too, we will be 

so happy from now on!" 

"I refuse to part with her! I will build a raft 

and mourn on the ocean with my wife."

"If only there was a way to revive her," he 

added. 

The eerie spirit told the man, "I can bring her 

back to life if you bring me a bamboo pin."

"I will make it right now! Please, please bring 

her back!" the young man said frantically.

The Taotaomona then told him, "Give me your 

finger, I will strike it, and your blood will 

revive your wife."

The extremely happy man shouted, "You've come back to 

me!"

His wife replied, "I have, and I never want to leave you!"

The man decided, "Let us stay at sea and live happily 

together once again."
