
What is an Amendment?
An amendment is just changing or adding rules. You can think of an amendment just like a rule. In this book, we will be talking about the first 10 amendments, you can also call them the first 10 rules.


People are allowed to make a book saying what they want, you can meet with people, you can say whatever you want, and you are free to practice anything you want.
1st Amendment






I am going to practice what I believe in. I am going to meet with some people and talk about the new book we wrote about the government, and we will talk about why the government is so bad.
People are allowed to own a weapon.
2nd Amendment


How old are you because I can see the weapon hanging on your pants? You are not allowed to have a weapon.
I am 18 years old and I have permission for the ruler of North Carolina, so I am allowed to own a weapon.

Soldiers are not allowed in your house without permission.
3rd Amendment








You are not allowed to stay in my house because you do not have permission.

You are not allowed to go into someone else’s house without permission from the owner. You also can’t take or break anything.
4th Amendment


We would like to search your house.

You don't have permission, then you can't enter.
A person can’t be blamed twice for the same reason; a person does not have to talk against themselves, they have to have a reason for why they are getting in trouble.
5th Amendment




He stole my car and this video will prove it.
Now you can't blame me for the same crime again once I get out of jail.
