Dogs are cute, they are funny, and they protect you. Surely nothing bad can happen to them right? Wrong! Lots of dogs get lost and roam the streets and they do not have shelter during bad weather. I think a dog shelter would be great! Instead of a pound and locking them in cages, give them a place to roam around and give them all the necessities they need. Anything is paw>sible with a bit of work!

We know that stray dogs are a big problem in our community.We all would like to help the strays ,and we would love to take them home or call the tag number.some of the stray dogs don't have a collar and that is very sad and traumatizing for us,so please,please try and find a way to keep them safe!

Safety first

A strange, frightened, and possibly sick or injured animal can behave strange. A sudden move on your part, even opening your car door, can spook them and cause them to run possibly right onto the highway and get injured worse. If the animal looks or acts threatening, or if you feel bad about the situation, stay in your car.

If possible, restrain the animal. Create a barrier or use a carrier, leash, piece of cloth, or length of rope to keep the animal in the area. Signal approaching vehicles to slow down cars if you cannot put the animal in one spot,divert traffic around them.If they appear to be injured treat them to the best of your ability,and if you can't help,call an animal shelter.

Use caution

Use caution when approaching the animal. if you succeed in getting close enough to capture them, you stand a good chance of being scratched or bitten.

When moving toward the animal, speak calmly to calm them. Make sure they can see you at all times as you approach, and perhaps entice them to come to you by offering a strong-smelling food such as canned tuna or dried liver or maybe a treat.
