1st Quote.
"She is hallucinating because she is thirsty, poor women" (Elie Wiesel 25).
This is an important quote because it explains how what she said before didn't matter and they don't actually care what's wrong with her.
2nd quote.
“One day when Idek was venting to his fury, I happened to cross his path. He threw himself on me like a wild beast, beating me in the chest, on my head, throwing me to the ground and picking me up again, crushing me with ever more violent blows, until I was covered in blood” (Elie Wiesel 53).
This is important because this is big evidence explaining how they get treated, thrown around worse than dogs for no reason.
3rd quote.
Prisoners, needles in hand, tattooed numbers on our left arm. I became A-7713. From then on, I had no other name" (Elie Wiesel 42). This explains them taking someone's human identify and making them work hard labor as they also tortured them with tattoo needles.
4th quote.
“Without passion or haste, they shot their prisoners, who were forced to approach the trench one by one and offer their necks. Infants were tossed into the air and used as targets for machine guns” (Elie Wiesel 6).This is one of the biggest examples of dehumanization and indifferences because no infant deserves to be treated as a shield, being thrown in the air to block weapons being used on humans.
Summary
What we read so far is humans getting dehumanized. Humans turning into prisoners.
