Harry the Hippo skipped home after school. He was very excited to watch TV, play video games, and play outside with his friends. And after all of his fun, mmmmmmm, supper time!

He swung the door open and walked into the kitchen to see his mother preparing dinner. Grass and root casserole with fern garnish! Harry's favorite!

"How was school, Harry?" His mother asked

"It was good ma! But now I want to watch TV, play outside, and play some video games before dinner!" Harry said with a smile.

"That sounds fun, Harry. But remember to do your homework first!"

"But mooooom!" Harry complained

"No buts, mister. Homework first, fun later." Harry's mother opened the fridge. "Oh heavens! I've forgotten that we're out of ferns! I'm going to the store to pick some up. But I want you to finish your homework!"

Harry sat down at the table, opened his math book, sharpened his pencil, and stared at the math problems. And just as he was about to start thinking about what three times two was, he heard the TV from the other room! His mother must have left it on! Now, Harry got distracted very easily, so he put his pencil down, closed his book, and went to check it out.

It was his favorite scary action movie, Crash McGee 2: Revenge of the Zombies! It was just towards the end of the movie, his favorite part!

"Weeeeell..." Harry thought. "I could always finish my homework after the movie..." And so he sat down to watch.

The movie ended, and so Harry went back to the table. He looked at the time, OH NO! He got distracted for a whole THIRTY MINUTES! There were too many distractions inside.

"I know!" Said Harry. "I'll go outside away from the TV! Plus, it's a beautiful day outside!" He looked out the window. "Yeah! That's what I'll do!"

Harry sat on the porch swing and tried to multiply three by two. Until, that is, he saw his friends riding bikes. "Come join us, Harry!" Tommy Tiger shouted.

"But I have homework to do!!" Harry shouted back. But then, he thought to himself. "Weeeeell, I could always do homework AFTER I ride around a couple of blocks..."

And so, because Harry was distracted easily, he put down his book and pencil, put on his helmet, and rode with his friends, Bonnie Bunny and Tommy Tiger.

When Harry got back, he said goodbye to his friends and saw that the sun was coming down. "Oh no! I should go back inside so I don't get distracted!!" Harry exclaimed.

He went back inside, opened up his book, picked up his pencil, and tried to focus on what three times two is.
