Bahrain in my heart...

National Day of Bahrain
Bahrain celebrates its National Day on December 16th to 17th of each year. This date marks two important events in the country’s history. Bahrain acquired its independence from the British on August 15, 1971. However, the country does not observe August 15th as its national day. Instead, Bahrain observes December 16th as its independence day and the day its former ruler, Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, ascended to the throne. The people of Bahrain have a deep respect for this particular leader since they attribute the reforms which made the country stable to the efforts of the king.
