Tom is a computer repairman who lives with his wife Mary in a beautiful small town in the Netherlands. The two of them have a young son, Dylan. Every Sunday morning, Tom's family often goes to the park to have picnic together. 

It was on a cool Sunday, the air was fresh, Tom and Mary were rearranging the food, Dylan was running forward to them. Dylan said: “Dad! Mom!  There is something under our car. Please come and have a look!”.

They got to their car and found a poor dog lying under the car. Perhaps last night's rain had soaked its golden fur, it shivered from the cold, its left eye was injured, it groaned, perhaps it was tortured by someone.

“Good boy, good boy”, Tom tried to get close to the dog, it became scared, shivered, and tried to bark ”Gauw Gauw” to drive Tom away. After a short while, the dog could sense that Tom and his family were trying to help him, so he began to make "um, um.." noises as if needing help.

Right away, the whole family packaged all the picnic stuff and left the park. They used the picnic blanket to cover the shaking dog.

In the car, Marry watched the dog. After a while, his moans were getting louder and louder because his left eye was bleeding a lot, the wound was very serious. "Oh my God! How can you beat animals in such a cruel way?” Mrs. Tom exclaimed.

They went to the veterinary hospital. The dog was checked up and the result was not really bad. Even though he had some injuries around his left eye, the injuries would be covered in a few days with good care.

The veterinarian asked the family: ‘’Do you want to adopt him right now or he will be waiting for someone to come and adopt him later?”.

While Tom and his wife were still thinking about the decision, Dylan came near the dog. The puppy was feeling the warmth of Dylan, he tried to use his leg to catch Dylan’s hand. The parents saw that action, so they asked him.

Tom asked Dylan: “My little baby! Do you want to give your younger brother a name?”. Dylan was so excited about that, he asked to confirm: “Really Mom? Really Dad? Shall we nurture it?”. Mary said: “Of course!”. 

“And I can give him a name?”. Parents looked at Dylan and nodded. Dylan was yelling and said: “I want to give him the name Happy. I am so happy right now.”.

Once again, the whole family was busy arranging the new place for Happy. They bought a bed, a blanket, two feeding bowls, and some food for Happy from the pet supermarket. 

Because of the medicine, Happy slept well that night. Happy could feel the warmth of love from this family. After a few days, with good care of their family, Happy was better and was no longer afraid of them. 

Happy could run around his bed, eat more food and drink more water. “Haha, come on boy, hurry up!” Dylan and Happy played together. The dog was happy when played Dylan, so did Dylan. 

On Sunday, the family decided to take Happy on weekly picnic. Tom just bought a new necklace with the golden name tag for Happy. The park they came had a small beautiful lake. Dylan was holding Happy’s chain, Tom and Mary carried a picnic basket.

Mary said out loud with Dylan: “My little baby! Please take care your younger brother. Mom and Dad will prepare the food and drink. And, please do not come near the lake!”. Dylan was smile and said: “Yes, Mom!”. Dylan and Happy ran.

There were many beautiful butterflies near the lake and they followed them. They ran around the flower bed. Suddenly, Dylan saw many gooses which were swimming in the lake. Dylan was attracted by them.

He walked more and more closer to the lake. A few more steps to reach the lake, Happy was barking loudly as an alarm. Dylan was shocked and realized that he was really near the lake.
