pattern, which focus on the attributes of

M is for Metalinguisitic Awareness.
" The ability to objectify language and dissect
it as an arbitrary linguistic code independent of
meaning." It is very important in the journey
of learning to read. (Zipke, 2008)

is for Engaged learners achieve because they
want to understand, they possess
intrinsicmotivation for interacting with text,
they
use cognitive skills to understand, and
they share knowledge by talking with
teachers and peers. (McLaughlin 2012)

O is for ORGANIZATIONAL WALK-
THROUGHS, which allow the teacher to point
out major features of the text: chapter
headings, subheadings, pictures and captions,
review questions, and so forth.

P is for POSTREADING which is a tool used to deepen
a student’s understanding of the text.
Ex) Timeline, map, concept map
(Gill 2008)


Q is for Questioning the Author...
While reading students should question the
Author, this will prompts students thinking and
discussion as they are reading a text.
(Dooley, 2011)
