Rosie the Pug and Goldie the French bulldog sat watching the bird feeder. Both sat looking out the window, but Pesky wasn’t there. Both dogs went to go eat. Then out of the blue Pesky the squirrel with the big bushy tail came running across the fence.
Pesky stopped and looked around making sure that the dogs weren’t outside. He jumped from the fence to the grass and approached the tree.
The bird feeder was perched on the fence. The bird feeder had a lot of scrumptious seeds in it that he loved to eat. He ran across the tree branch over to the bird feeder and started cracking open a seed.
Pesky the squirrel saw the two vicious things coming at him with slobber hanging from their mouths. He froze and didn’t know what to do.
"Ha ha we have you now!" said Goldie.
"Yeah! We caught you! Now you can't steal from us anymore!" Rosie barked.
"What?" Pesky asked "I'm not stealing!"
"Yes, you are!" said Goldie. "You're stealing from us and the birds!"
"I don't know what you're talking about." Pesky chirped.
Both dogs kept barking and jumping up at Pesky. Pesky stayed up at the top of the bird feeder. Pesky’s heart was pumping out of his chest. He was going to have to jump from the fence to the tree!
How was he going to make it? What if the beasts get him? He didn’t know what to do. He looked for the closest stretched out branch. He scrambled and jumped to the tree branch looking down at the two slobbering barking beasts.
