Once upon a time, there was a wealthy widower. He had a young beautiful daughter named Ella, who was very kind and sweet.
Years later, the widower married a proud and haughty woman who had two daughters, equally and vain and selfish. The stepsisters and stepmother forced Ella to wear rags and made her work day and night. At night, she would curl up near the fireplace to stay warm. She would often arise covered in cinders, and so the stepsister called her Cinderella.
One day, the prince invited all the young ladies to a royal ball. The two stepsisters taunted Cinderella that maids were not invited in the ball. As the stepsisters departed to the ball, Cinderella cried. Suddenly a fairy appeared in front of her.
At the ball, the entire count was amazed by Cinderella. Even the stepsisters admired Cinderella. They could not recognise her. The prince liked her very much and asked her to dance with him. They dance together and fell in love with each other. Everyone in the ball was admiring the couple.
The fairy transformed the rags of Cinderella into a beautiful gown with a delicate pair of glass slippers. She turned a pumpkin into a golden carriage, mice into a horses, a rat into a coachman and lizards into footmen.
Before departing for the ball, the fairy warned her that she had return before midnight, when the spell would be broken. Cinderella looked like a beautiful princess as she sat in the coach and departed for the ball.
Cinderella became so enchanted by the prince that she lost track of time and left only at the final stroke of midnight. She was very nervous as she ran out of the palace, losing one of her glass slippers on the steps of the palace in her haste. The prince chased her, but outside the palace, the guards saw only a simple country girl leave.
