There once was a gentle spider...

...who spent all of his time spinning webs.

But the spider and his webs always were getting stepped on...

...so there was something he would rather be doing instead.

The gentle spider dreamed of going camping.

He was an outdoorsman at heart...

...but his current home...

...kept him and his dream apart.

"Don't leave!" the spider's friend, Spud, said. "You're too gentle for the outdoors. We have everything we need here!"

"I'm going to find myself," the gentle spider said.

"I'll bring you a souvenir!"

So the gentle spider went on his way...

...and he met, to his surprise...

...a big, scary porcupine with judging, beady eyes! 

"I'm not scared of you!" yelled the gentle spider. "I'm done being stepped on!"

"Now if you don't mind," he continued, "I have some personal business to reflect on ."

"Wait!" said the porcupine, as the sun went down. "I don't mean to be scary, but I have a reason to frown."

"Every camper I come across runs away in fear. I feel so unseen. Is that why you're here?" 

"I'm the gentle spider. That's what I've been told. But if you ask me, I think my name is getting a little old."
