Prologue:

Evie saw a big spider leg pop out from the ground. Time froze. She told her parents and they told her a big secret. Soon, her parents, and her friends’ parents went through an underground tunnel to defeat the spider. They ended up getting captured, so Evie and her friends went through the tunnel, saved their parents, turned the big spider called Lord Fang  and his brother into humans, and made them good. Now, they live with Evie. Read on to find out what happens in book two of the adventure series of Evie and her friends.

Chapter 1: The secret

Evie and her friends, Aurora and Leela were at Aurora’s house chatting about defeating Lord Fang. It had not gotten out of their minds quite yet. A year ago, they had saved their parents, turned Lord Fang and his brother into humans, and made them good. Now, it was summer break. Suddenly, a pool of saliva formed. It was stinking. " Eeew" said Aurora, holding her nose. " What is that?" asked Evie. " I don't know" said Aurora. Then, Aurora's eyes lit up! Maybe its a stinky bubble bath!" she said grinning. At that moment, their parents entered the room.

 Their eyes widened when they saw the saliva. " What?" asked Leela. All of a sudden a dragon's wing poked out of the saliva. " Aaah!" yelled Aurora. The parents immediately pushed the dragon out and said  “ Well we can't hide it anymore." " How many more secrets do you have?" muttered Evie. Evie's dad laughed and said " There is a Fantasy land called Fantonia. It is entered through a portal that God people can open. The problem is, Fantonia is infested with dragons. We need to get rid of them before they destroy Fantonia. They came yesterday, but very mysteriously. And we can't let them infestate this world too! Do you want to help?” 

 “ Of course!” said Evie. “ That’s great!  The dragons are very big and powerful, so we need a plan to defeat them. There are at least 50 of them in Fantonia" said Leela's dad." Well, if they are so big and powerful, then how are we supposed to defeat them?” said Aurora. “ There is only one weakness a dragon has, and that is water. Most of the dragons, about 47 of them, breathe fire, not water. 3 of them are water dragons, which are extremely rare and powerful. They don’t have any weaknesses so we are gonna have to actually fight the dragons with our magical powers.” said Evie’s mom.

 “ Okay then, but how are we supposed to get a lot of water in Fantonia so most of the dragons are scared away?” asked Leela. “ That is what we are supposed to figure out in Fantonia. Do you want to go there now? ”Aurora, Leela, and Evie nodded. The grownups made a portal and they all jumped through it. Soon, they were on the other side. The portal had closed too. They looked up and saw many dragons. They quickly ran away, hoping they wouldn’t be burnt.

Chapter 2: The baby dragon

As they walked on, Evie heard some whimpering. She walked towards the sound and the others followed. Finally, she found a baby dragon that was sapphire blue. “ This is a water dragon,” exclaimed Aurora’s mom.  “Aww, so cute. Let’s take it with us” said Aurora, putting her hands on her face, squeezing it. Then Aurora tried picking the dragon up but claimed that it was too heavy. Evie tried and she did it. It was as light as a feather. “ What do you mean?” Evie said, “ It is as light as a feather. Are you kidding me Aurora?”  

“ Well, you are a special God person so maybe it was just easier for you.” retorted Aurora. “ Girls, stop fighting. Now let’s come up with a plan to get a bunch of water to drive away the fire dragons.” said Leela’s mom sternly. “ Hey! Maybe this dragon can help. She could tell us a way if she knew one. And mom, you can understand any animal. That is your power. You can translate it to us. Evie can too, since she has all the powers in the world,” said Leela. “ Good idea.” complimented Evie. Then Aurora said “ We need to give this cutie a name. How about Sapphire?”  The others nodded an agreement.

Then Evie asked Sapphire in dragon language (since she could do that) if she knew how to get a bunch of water to drive away the fire dragons without hurting the other people of Fantonia. Sapphire spoke to Evie and said “ I don’t know, but I know something that could help you. There is a crystal orb in a very old cave on the other side of this land. I can lead you there. If you ask it a question, it will answer.” Evie told the others what the dragon had told them. They nodded and Evie told Sapphire to start leading them. Sapphire flew out of the cave. Evie told everyone to touch her and they did.

They followed Sapphire who wasn’t too fast because she was only a baby. Sapphire flew with all of them following. All of a sudden, there was a big dragon overhead. Evie and the others dove into a nearby cave that was empty. They had to avoid being seen. Once the dragon passed Evie flew up into the air with everyone and caught up with Sapphire who had been continuing to fly. They flew for what seemed like a century. Evie almost fell asleep in midair but managed to keep her eyes open. Finally, they reached. It was a beautiful cave with pearls, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, amethysts, diamonds, and crystals on it.

 A lake surrounded it and there was a dragon boat on it. They flew inside and it was even more beautiful. Then, Evie spotted the crystal ball. She flew up to it and asked “ How do we get enough water to drive away the fire dragons without hurting any other creatures of Fantonia?” The crystal ball responded and said “ Go to the meagic ocean. It can flood Fantonia without doing anything but drive away the fire dragons. But I warn you, the journey is perilous.”

Chapter 3: The start of the journey

Sapphire looked surprised after the crystal ball answered. “Why do you look surprised?” asked  Evie's dad. “ Because I forgot to tell you, only dragons can consult the crystal ball.” “Well, we are god people and Evie here, well she is a special type. She has any power and that includes consulting the crystal ball” said Evie’s dad. “ God people?” Sapphire repeated. “You mean, you were made from god?” “ Of course!” replied Evie’s dad.

 “ God has all the powers. Maybe he distributed powers to all the God People but wanted to give Evie all his powers.” she whispered, her eyes very wide. Evie’s dad nodded. Then Leela said “ Okay, now we need to travel to the magic ocean of Fantonia but we don’t know the way. How are we supposed to get there?” she questioned. “ I can help.” Sapphire piped up, “ I know the way. I have explored all of Fantonia and found my way to places. And dragons have an excellent memory so I remember the way. I will lead you. Please?!” said Sapphire to the doubtful looks of all of them.

Please?

“ But you might get us noticed,” said Aurora’s mom. “ I won’t,” said Sapphire, “ It is normal for baby dragons to fly around exploring. And the other dragons won’t see you, because you are so small.” They finally gave in and let Sapphire lead them. “ But first, we need a rest in a safe place,” said Aurora, yawning. “ I know a place that is safe. And it is towards the ocean. Follow me.” said Sapphire, who was turning out to be handy. They followed Sapphire and not long after, they reached the place. It was another cave but the ground in it was quite soft. All of them lay down at the end of the cave and slept.

“ ZZZZZZZ,” all the humans said. “ RR AA WW RR,” said Sapphire softly in her sleep. The next day, Sapphire and the others started the journey. Sapphire blabbered on and on about how dangerous it would be and the obstacles there would be. “ It took me about a month to get there. It might as well take a month for us too, maybe longer. There is also a problem. I acidently forgot the most important part" said Sapphire, flushing a little under the gaze of all the people who trusted her. Evie and Aurora and Leela just continued chattering about random stuff, but were getting annoyed.

When they heard that, they stared hard at Sapphire, all of them but Evie. She took pity on Sapphire and said “ Aww, Sapphire is only a baby. Do you have to look at Sapphire so expectantly? Sapphire is little so she won’t remember all the stuff. I bet Sapphire has a lot of stuff to remember. Maybe she even goes to dragon school. She will have to remember stuff from there as well. And who knows? Sapphire might turn out to remember the way, as we are going. Don’t look harshly at her. Come on Aurora, come on Leela, stop looking at Sapphire harshly.” said Evie tugging on each of them when she said that.

They stopped, but reluctantly. But, Leela wasn’t done. She said “ but she might have forgotten the most important part of the way. “ Still.” Evie insisted. “ Hmph” said Leela. All of a sudden, there was an enormous ROAR! All of them looked frantically thinking it was a dragon. But it wasn’t. In front of them was a monster.

Chapter 4: The monster

It was big and furry with a fierce look on its face. “ Uh Oh,” Sapphire muttered, “ This was one of the obstacles I had to face. I just hid though and ran past, making sure the monster didn’t see me. But, umm it saw us. We can’t use my way anymore.” “ Oh, don’t worry about THIS,” said Leela. She controlled the monster which was one of her powers. But the monster was too big, so Evie helped. She could do it, she had all the powers in the world. Both of them worked together, but they still couldn't control it.

“ What should we do?” Leela shouted frantically as she and Evie dodged the fist of the monster. “ How should I know?” shouted Evie. “ I don’t know! Just asking!” Leela shouted, dodging another fist. Then Leela got an idea. She spoke to the monster, instead of controlling it for that was her power. The monster softened as Leela explained everything. Then it said “ Blech no ding boo lir noooo pujari oew kutha jionk htuneb” which Leela translated as “ I want dragons gone. Dragons mean to me. Dragons hurt me.” Then the monster fixed it’s eyes on Sapphire.

Apparently, Leela saw it because she quickly explained to the monster about Sapphire.The monster said “ Ging. Te wojk yurt fresbc” which Leela translated as “ Fine. I will not hurt the dragon.” Then the monster let them pass and Sapphire continued leading the way. “ Wow Leela. You came up with a good solution.” complimented Aurora. Leela blushed and said “ Thanks, but it was only because I just remembered my powers.” “ Hey, don't be modest. Admit it, you came up with a great solution. Come on Leela admit it. Don’t brag or anything but just admit it, okay?” said Aurora, elbowing Leela.

Run for your life!

“ Oh fine. I admit it. I had an awesome solution and I am glad to have the power” said Leela. “ Much better.” said Aurora, grinning. All of a sudden, something apparently said “ Nnoo ooosweer dofjopl kvanmjrnhhhua!!!!” in a growling voice. Evie didn’t know how to translate it because she couldn’t understand all animals. So everybody turned to Leela. Leela looked really panicked, and for some reason Sapphire did too. Sapphire and Leela both said “ We had better run! It is a wyvern, the most dangerous one. It is apparently Old Wyvern Lopo” Then Leela continued when Sapphire stopped.

“ Well, at least that is what I understood. He is a danger to everything, including dragons. Now, Run!!!!. They all ran very fast and Sapphire couldn’t keep up while flying. She tumbled to the ground, breathing heavily. Evie saw her and turned the other way, picked up Sapphire and ran. But she couldn’t keep up so instead Evie flew and caught up. Now, the wyvern had gone out to find the people it had heard. It flew in the direction of them, and Sapphire sensed it. She said “ Do you see that big gray rock? Go touch it saying “ Poof! We are in danger. Old Wyvern Lopo might catch us, open wide and let us in.”

Evie did so and the rock opened. “ Guys! In here!” Evie called to everybody. They dashed in and the rock closed. They heard Old Wyvern Lopo flapping his wings, looking for them but was confused on where they had gone. Evie was about to pat Sapphire and thank her for saving them, when she realized that Sapphire was growing white and her glow was fading. “ What’s happening?” she asked. 

Chapter 5: Saving Sapphire

“ Oh, dear,” said Evie’s mom when she saw Sapphire. “ What’s wrong?” Evie asked again. “ Sapphire is dying,” said Evie’s mom. “ What?! But, h-how?” said Evie. “ Yeah, how?” said Aurora and Leela in unison. “ Do you know how Old Wyvern Lopo got to be so powerful? Well, when a dragon is near, he developed a power to suck out all their powers and life. That is why dragons stay away from here and you don’t see them. The last time I was here, he was out hunting probably since I did not meet him” said Sapphire in a weak, hoarse voice.

“ How can we save Sapphire? She is the only thing we have got.” “ I don’t know where this place is, but we have to bring her to the heart of Fantonia,” said Evie’s mom, “And if we don’t do that in 3 days, then Sapphire will die.” “ We have to go to the crystal ball and ask where the heart of the fantasy world is. Evie, do you remember what it looked like?” asked Leela. “ Uhh, no.” said Evie feeling a little ashamed, “ But I do remember what the place near the monster looked like.” “ Ok, can you teleport us there?” asked Leela. “ Sure. Everybody, please touch me. We all need to get teleported.” said Evie.

Evie cradled Sapphire and she put the image of the place near that monster in her mind. She concentrated on the image. Then, they teleported back to the clearing. I was dark and they needed rest. But all of the sudden, the huge monster came lumbering out of his cave. He looked at them and seemed to remember them. Leela began communicating with him, explaining everything and asking if they could sleep in his cave. The monster nodded and they followed him into his cave. Then, they fell asleep in a comfortable spot. Evie didn’t fall asleep though. She was thinking about Sapphire, who was comfortable but still pale and could not fly.

She couldn’t really speak either. The next morning, all of them got up and found some berries to eat because they were hungry. Then, they left the cave in search of the cave with the crystal ball. Sapphire told them to first turn right and go straight and then they had to make a left turn and walk a little more and then they had to turn right and keep walking until they saw the cave. So they followed her directions and found the cave. They went inside and found the crystal ball. “ Where is the heart of Fantonia?” asked Evie, “ Please tell us quick Sapphire here will die in 2 days if we don’t bring her to the heat of Fantonia.”

“ It is in the queen dragon’s castle. You have to follow your own heart to get to it. Here is a map to get to the castle and save that little dragon that you call Sapphire.” said the ball. Evie and the others nodded and hurried out of the cave. But they stopped short when one dragon saw them carrying Sapphire and coming out of the cave. “ You harmed Princess Bluneina! You shall be taken to the Dragon queen’s castle.” said the dragon.

Chapter 6: Uh Oh!.......

The dragon swooped to them and grabbed them all. It flew straight to the castle. “ Now what?” muttered Leela. “ I’m not sure,” said one of the parents. “ I can’t believe Sapphire is a princess,” said Evie, looking down at Sapphire who was in her arms. Soon the dragons arrived. It went through the gates and into the palace. It showed all of them to the Dragon Queen. Her eyes widened when she saw the condition of (now) Bluneina.
