There once was a princess named Zara.
Every afternoon Zara walked through the town,
waving to every man and woman that she passed.
The men often praised her beauty, hoping she
might take notice and want to marry them.
Zara always wore a smile, but these constant
compliments didn't make her happy at all. They
made her uncomfortable.

When Zara returned to the castle, her father
was waiting near the gates with a young man.
The king introduced prince Peter to Zara. Peter
was handsome, strong, and kind. His family
was rich, and the king intended for Peter and
Zara to get married.
Zara wasn't really interested in marrying
anyone, but she listened to her father because
she didn't want to disappoint him.

Zara received many compliments from Peter.
He acted just like she thought a true
gentleman should act.
Zara appreciated how kind Peter was, but she
didn't want to marry him. Even though he was
handsome and nice, she didn't have romantic
feelings for him.

The next day, when Zara walked into town,
she met another princess named Grace.
Zara immediately realized how beautiful Grace
was. Almost instantly, they became friends.
They hit it off so well, that Zara was sure that
it was love at first sight.
While they were talking, Zara wished that she
could just marry Grace instead of Peter.

Later that evening, Zara went to her parents
and told them about princess Grace. Zara told
them about the confusing feelings that she had
for Grace.
The king and queen insisted that what she was
experiencing was only a phase, and that she
was just confused. She was going to marry the
prince, because princesses marry princes.
That's the way it is.
