For my parents and for the earth.

Little Seed sitting loose on a tree, ready to let go and fall,
be free. Waiting to say a "farewell" to the sky, Little Seed blinked away tears. Don't cry! Big Tree was there to comfort it, as it sailed away into the brown dirt.
Starting on a journey it knew would be worth it,
it would go down to where the deep earth was.
When it finally reached the ground, it made not a sound, as it crawled into its new home. Suddenly afraid, filled with fright, Little Seed cowered in the dark. It longed for light! But alas, it was a seed. It could not move from its spot. So it settled down, waited, to be something it's not.
After many days
Little Seed looked down and saw

The
most peculiar
thing of all!

A string like thing that looked like a "Y".
Then, many more! It didn't know why! These, of course, were roots. They supplied water to the Little Seed so it could grow. The roots grew bigger every day. The seed was cold and it would sway. Wait, how could a seed sway? Why?
Was that a sprout touching the sky?
Little Sprout did it! It broke through the ground!
On the way to become a tree, middle strong, branches sound.
But, it noticed something different...
Normally, when it was but a seed, it would look down at the grass so green and the dirt it lived in, the bugs and the bees that would never give in, the ants that march across the ground, the hills long, wide and round, the families that were having picnics, the bouncy grasshoppers and the crickets.
Now it saw the bright stars that shine like diamonds, fresh pears fully ripened, birds soaring through the clouds, trees standing tall and proud.
"Soon," The sprout thought,
"I will be a tree. And be able to see the world. All of it. All of the wonder will fill me with awe."
The Little Sprout was filled with joy, and it started to rest, not fearing what tomorrow would bring.
