A long time ago, in a far away 

land, there was a Pirate Princess 

named Piper.   She had a parrot, 

named Pete, who traveled with 

her everywhere she went.  

Ever since she was young, Piper had heard stories 

about the "golden key."   It would unlock the magical 

treasure chest that was hidden on Mermaid Island.   So 

far, no one had been able to find the golden key or the 

magical treasure chest.   So Piper decided to set sail on 

a journey to Mermaid Island.  

Piper wanted to find 

the golden key and the 

magical treasure chest 

so she could help her 

village.   So she packed 

and prepared all the 

materials she would 

need for her trip.   She 

mapped out her journey 

from her home to 

Mermaid Island.   Then 

she set sail on her ship, 

with Pete the parrot.

Piper's Home

Piper and Pete sailed 

the ocean for five 

days straight, 

without any sight of 

land or life.   She 

was worried that 

they were lost.   But 

hoped that soon 

enough they would 

find Mermaid Island.    

Then, all of sudden, out in the far distance of the ocean, 

Piper saw something moving in the water.   So she took 

out her telescope and saw three beautiful dolphins 

jumping in and out of the water.   Now Piper knew she 

must be close to Mermaid Island.   So she followed the 

direction of the dolphins.  

Soon enough, Piper spotted an piece of land and she 

thought to herself, "That must be Mermaid Island."  

Within a matter of minutes, Piper had finally reached her 

destination.  

So Piper docked her ship and gathered all her materials 

she would need on her hunt for the golden key and 

magical treasure chest.   Piper and Pete were ready to go 

explore Mermaid Island.  

As Piper reached the island, she saw a mermaid sitting on 

a rock in the water.   She welcomed her and told her, 

"Piper, we've been waiting for you."   To her surprise Piper 

responded, "How do you know my name?"   The mermaid 

just smiled at her and said, "Piper, you will meet three 

special animals on your journey, good luck!"
