Chau has been living on the secluded island of Phu Quy since she was born. She stays with her grandparents since her mother died while giving birth.
Even with Chau's parents gone and a limited number of residents at Phu Quy, Chau was given a happy childhood. Living on a secluded island, Chau grew up with an adventurous bone in her body. She loved what her island had to offer but found herself wanting more. Being adventurous often went along with being selfish to your own desires.

One day, a large ship arrived to Phu Quy. On board were men tall and short, women frail, and children who's bodies seemed like infants.

Chau heard of the news of people arriving to the island from a couple residents in the area. They staggered off their ship thirsty and malnourished, so Chau's grandparents and other bystanders fed the boatload of people with a portion of their harvests from that year.

The people on the ship were split up and stayed with a family on the island. Two of the people who had come off the boat, a father and daughter, stayed with Chau's family. They filled their stomachs and introduced themselves as Duc and Anh.

They told Chau the stories of their adventures overseas. Who they met along the way, the different foods they got to try, and strange cultures that seemed so bizarre Chau couldn't believe them. They've done practically everything she's wanted to do. They traveled the world leaving no boundaries for what would happen next.

After their meal, Chau took Anh to her room and grabbed her a couple clothes from her dresser.
"You must be hot right? Here" said Chau as she handed a handful of clothes to Anh.
As Anh got changed, she asked Chau about her mother.
"Where is she now?" asked Anh
"She died while giving birth to me. Nature is my mother for now. She's given me so many wonderful things," Chau beamed.
