"Hmm... What should I make for the science fair?" She said.
After she did some thinking, she had an idea. She was going to make a robot. She started drawing some pictures of the robots she might make for the fair.

She finally had drawn one that she believed would help her win the science fair! Now she needed to find things she could use to build it.

She went around her house looking for stuff she could use.

In her kitchen, she found some things she could use for her robot. She found tinfoil, forks, and cups.

In her mom's office, she found pencils, buttons, cloth and clay.

She gathered everything she found and went back to her room to start working.

Before she started building her robot, she had to look at all of the things she got and figure out which would be best for the robot.

Charlotte thought she needed to work on the body of the robot first. She looked at her things and tried to decide what she wanted to use for the body. She needed something big that could hold up the arms, legs, and head of the robot.

She found out that clay would be best so she had two different sizes of clay to try. She thought that a smaller clay size would be best, so now she has to find out which one is smaller. Which one do you think is smaller?

This one was a smaller piece of clay. Next, she needed to find out what to use for the arms and legs. She needed something with a hard texture. She had three pencils which are made of wood, and are pretty hard, but she also had three forks made of metal that had a harder texture too.

All three of the pencils were equal in size, but the forks were all different sizes. She thought it would be funny if the robot had one short arm and one long arm. If she wanted to do that then should she use the forks or the pencils?

The forks are all different sizes and lengths so that is what she is going to use for the arms. Now, she needed to find out which two forks to use. She has three forks to look at: One that is really big, one that is regular size, and one that is very small.

She only needed two forks so she had to pick ones that would fit the body. Looking at all three forks, she needed the two that would not be too heavy that the robot would fall over. She needed a regular and a small one. Which ones she should pick?

She needed these two forks. The regular and the small one. Now she was on to find the legs for her robot.

She still had the pencils, so she thought she would use them. She had three pencils but her robot only needs to have two legs, so how many pencils does she need?

She only needed two pencils. Next, she was on to make the head of the robot.

She thought about the stuff she had left.

She thought the cup would be a good idea, but now she needed to choose which size. She had a big and a small.

She thought about how the robot's body was small, so she felt she needed a small head too. If she wants the robot's head to be small, which cup should she pick?
