Lily’s parents are her energy because they protect and keep her happy. Without them she feels sad. Her parents work as a Doctor and a Nurse. When the COVID – 19 virus came, both of her parents had to work 24/7 in the hospital to treat and take care of patients.

While eating dinner,

What is the COVID- 19 mom? Lily asked her mother. 

“The COVID- 19 or Coronavirus is a type of sickness that we can’t see. It spreads into our bodies and if it gets worse, we may die. That’s why Me and Dad have to work and stay in the hospital to help people who get the virus.”

“If you guys are gonna be at the hospital, where am I gonna stay?” Lily asked.

“You’re gonna be with grammy for a while.“ Her dad said.

“Why do you guys have to treat those patients you barely even know?” Lily asked.

“Because someone has to fight with the virus and as healthcare workers, Mom and I have to help those patients” her dad explained to her.

After dinner, when she had freshened up ready to go to bed, Lily is still worrying about her parents. 

“What if they catch the virus?” “What if they die?” “What if I’m sad, who’s gonna give me energy?” she asked herself as she lie in bed.

The next morning, her parents drove her to a far town from the city to leave her with her grandmother. 

When they got there, her parents told her some reminders.

“Your laptop is already in your bag so you can facetime us and do your studies.” “I hope you understand why we are doing this for you Lily” “Always be a good girl okay?” Her parents said.

And just like that her parents went back to the city to work and she was left alone with her grammy.

“Are you hungry my Lily?” her grammy asked.

“No grammy, I’m just sad” she said sadly as she walked towards her room.

After arranging her things, she opened her laptop to do her assignments.

“Hi dear, I made your favorite cookies, so all your sadness would go away.” Her grammy said.

“Thank you grammy” Lily thanked with a big smile in her face.

“So why are you sad Lily?” Her grandma asked.

“Cus, mom and dad are going away.” She said

“Oh sweetheart, they aren’t going away, they just have to work. They have to take good care with the patients, so that the virus would not spread to other people.” Her grammy explained to her.

“But what about me, they don’t care about me anymore” She said.
